Those chapters are only condensed versions of the five larger concepts presented in the book: "Thinking About Studying Law? The rule in that case is that the courts won’t enforce contracts that are antithetical to “public policy.

You are learning to be a legal thinker, one who, in the long span of a career, will be largely self-taught. If law school were pass-fail, or if there were no exams at all,[18] then a new ranking of those students would not have to take place, and everyone could leave law school with the same sense of accomplishment that they have when they get the acceptance letter. The definitive guide to studying law at university,Letters to a Law Studentis an indispensable guide for any law student, at any point in their undergraduate degree. Written by one of the most esteemed Judges of the 21st Century, Lord Denning’s ‘Landmarks in the Law’ takes its readers on a gripping history of some of the most important legal cases which have shaped Common Law as we know it today.

Written by another renowned Judge, this book is again an essential read for all potential Law students as it provides a good introduction to the Rule of Law, or at least A. Not too dissimilar to ‘Under the Wigg’, ‘Jeremy Hutchinsons Case Histories’ is an enthralling read citing all the major cases Hutchinson advocated on. Letters to a Law Student by Nick McBride introduces law for aspiring law students in a personable read, with practical advice and insights on transitioning from school and studying law to build confidence and embed effective study and legal skills for career success. I was honestly quite impressed with the amount of information Mcbride included about assignments you would be given in law school. If they see you operating at lower standards, they are not likely to forget this about you when you are a practicing attorney. It is packed full of practical advice and helpful answers to the most common questions about studying law at university across every stage of taking, or thinking about taking, a law degree. So far however, I have found this a pleasant and engaging read, less stiff and boring than other law-prep/law-related books.
