The gesture button is a nice idea in theory, but holding down the button and moving the mouse doesn’t always trigger the desired action. I sometimes brought up the Alt+Tab switcher when I meant to do something else, apparently because the mouse or software didn’t sense my movement. Maximizing and restoring windows by moving the mouse up was an especially hit-or-miss gesture for some reason. Mac gestures like desktop switching also didn’t work reliably. I’m not sure why this is, but it’s an idea that needs refinement. NOTE: The MX Anywhere 2 wireless mouse uses Bluetooth Smart technology and is not compatible with Windows 7 computers that do not support Bluetooth Smart.

There’s not a lot that comes out of the box. You’ve got the charging cable, you’ve got the mouse itself, and you’ve got this little receiver which you can use if your device doesn’t happen to have Bluetooth and when you’re unboxing the mouse, don’t forget to take the little receiver that’s just hidden on the top flap. If you have Bluetooth built-in to your laptop already, then you don’t need to plug in this extra receiver. Now, since this is a mouse designed for travel, it would have been nice if Logitech had included a case or a sleeve with it but they don’t. The mouse itself is pretty good. It has multiple computer connection capabilities, and of course, it’s a strong and reliable wireless mouse with a 10m maximum distance for it to work well. As matters stand, anyone who wants to customize these MX mice on a per-application basis has to go through Options and change each button function one at a time—and they’d have to maintain a list of settings somewhere for each app. That’s impractically clunky. At least profiles could be implemented in software, so Logitech might be able to add support for them in anupdate if it was so inclined. We’ll examine this utility a little more later in the review. That’s not the yes-or-no answer I was hoping for. It’s not much of an answer at all, in fact, but it’s rather telling that Logitech considers these mice “not optimized for gaming.” We don’t think that categorization shields these mice from criticism. Oh yeah the unifying USB receiver recognized my older Logitech keyboard , MK700 and the USB cord has a nice little velcro strap to secure it. Nice touches. My M325 had an internal storage slot for the USB connector so that I wouldn't have to leave it attached to my laptop, or have it loose in my travel bag. The MX has a *slightly* more low-profile USB connector, but no internal slot to store it. Not a huge issue, but just a little creature-comfort that I'm going to miss. You can use the selector button on the bottom of the MX Anywhere 2 wireless mouse to pair it with up to three devices.

Since the MX Master and MX Anywhere 2 are wireless mice, getting them up and running isn’t quite as simple as plugging a cord into a USB port—but it’s close. To start the pairing process, you choose one of the three onboard profiles by pressing the rearmost button on the base of each mouse, at which point the connection LED begins blinking rapidly.

How happy you are with this mouse really depends on how big your hands are and what you’re already used to in terms of mice. So, you’re already using a larger mouse and you’re used to having your hand arch like that in a comfortable position, then MX Anywhere 2 mouse is not going to do a really good job. It’s probably going to make you uncomfortable after a while of use. For shorter travel trips, so if you’re just using this when you’re traveling for a business trip or if you don’t travel too frequently, then it’s going to be probably just enough but for a daily driver for people with large hands who are used to a large mouse, then it’s not going to be ideal. Logitech MX Anywhere 2S When the pairing is complete, the new device configuration window will automatically close. The MX Anywhere 2 will be visible in the Devices list in the Devices and Printers window. TIP: Use Logitech Options to view available gesture sets and assign gestures to the middle button or to other mouse controls. This is an older version of MX Anywhere 2S mouse. This mouse is more popular for travel and its portability. The features are also nice and work well. This is a productivity mouse and great for that work. Logitech MX Anywhere 2S

This mouse is pretty easy to set up and configure. You just turn it on, connect via Bluetooth and it allows three different settings, so you can pair this with three different devices at once. The laser points are built into the mouse and are also designed to be very precise and work on all sorts of surfaces including glass. Connect one end of the provided charging cable to the Micro-USB port on the mouse and the other end to a USB power source. But you’ve probably also noticed the Anywhere 2s is also available, and it seems very similar to the original. Between them, they’re some of the bestselling Logitech mice out there. Battery life remains exceptional, with a promise of up to 70 days on a charge and up to three hours of use from 60 seconds on the charging cord. You can still connect to three different devices, and the mouse is compatible with just about every OS, including macOS 11 or later, Windows 10 and 11, Linux, ChromeOS, iPadOS 14 or later, and Android 9.0 or later. The main difference between the Anywhere 2 and the MX Anywhere 2s is that the 2s has a longer battery life and the ability to adjust it to a higher sensitivity too. This means that if you’re planning to use the mouse for gaming, then the 2S is going to be the better option.
