I’m struggling at the moment to find a new shoe – running in Brooks Transcend so thought about Glycerin gts? But I sensed a softer and friendlier ride on the way than the Cumulus 22's which while improved over the 21 big time still was a bit firmer in the forefoot than I prefer. Continuing to draw inspiration from cumulus clouds, we reimagined this neutral running shoe's upper and midsole formation by applying a more holistic design approach that adapts to the runner's anatomy in motion. First, kick your foot back into the heel of each shoe before checking how much space is left at the front.

Wrapping the foot with an even softer feel, the engineered mesh upper adds strategic support in targeted areas while leaving some of the fibers more open to improve breathability. The Asics Gel-Cumulus 23 is a traditional trainer with a slightly snug, very comfortable upper and a great ride for those who land a bit more forward.The Cumulus is a more practical and versatile all around trainer for most unless you have good solid consistent form to keep things on the level and your pace is on the fast side. With its new mesh that fits like a second skin and its outstanding blend of responsiveness and cushioning thanks to the innovative GEL technology, it is more convincing than you could have hoped for. This shoe is ideal for heel strikers, entry-level runners, and runners who don’t want to adjust to newer styles of running shoes. I’ve given away /sent back numbers 20 and 21 , 22 were a nice walking shoe and 23 is snug again but the heel strike is hard and feels like it’s more than a 10mm rise even if it isn’t. The grip is great for pavements but also provides enough grip for parkland pathways and well drained fields.

I previously had Ascis gel cumulus 22 shoes and thought I had no more to do but get the next model but the Asics gel cumulus 23 shoes have given me a really sore lower back when walking or running any distance.
