Moving around was no hassle at all as the vac moved easily on its castors on all surfaces. The telescopic tube was also a benefit – you can adjust it so you’re moving the floorhead without having to bend uncomfortably. On the downside, I noticed the weight going up and down the stairs, because it isn’t the lightest to carry. How does the Miele Blizzard CX1 rate online?

Not having to get dirty digging out dust from the bin too often and not having to remove, wash, rinse and dry out foam filters were both real winning features for us. Yes, some maintenance of emptying the filter bin and cleaning the internal gauzes will be necessary, but much less frequently than typical foam filters. And of course, you’ll need to move it upstairs itself! Why Is The Power So Low Compared To Older Models? Given the sterling performance of both the EcoTeq and SRD floorheads in the other CX1 models we’ve tested, it was little surprise to discover that cleaning results were exemplary with both. And that price is the price! Dysons are expensive, like really expensive, so if you can’t afford one or don’t want to spend that much on a vacuum then you’ll do great with the Miele. The CX1 Cat & Dog has no shortage of tools and accessories. It adds the Cat & Dog floorhead to the Excellence model’s tool roster and misses only the giant Parquet head and electronic control handle from the flagship Comfort model.Adding Miele’s pet-centric rotating brush bar Cat & Dog floorhead to an already excellent tool lineup, the Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog PowerLine is arguably the most practical, versatile and best-performing model in Miele’s bagless cleaner range. It’s still a big beast for stairs, the small bin filter is messy, and the cable could be longer – but these are all minor niggles. Miele do have factories in china but as of now, their vacuum cleaners are actually made at the Bielefeld factory in Germany. The Miele ovens are also made in Germany. This is the latest and greatest of pretty much any robot vacuum cleaner, brand new technology allows for a more thorough cleaning of your house. At full length they offer plenty of scope for high-up cobwebs, and we found them comfortable vacuuming at floor height with the tubes extended about half way.

The filter canister pulls out of the cleaner and the filter pulls out of the bin so you can empty the contents; we found this didn’t need doing very often either. We got in the habit of giving the Comfort Clean feature a whirl every couple of cleaning sessions to keep the filter in tip-top performance.

If you ask people who already own a Miele vacuum how long they’ve had it. Most of them will tell you they’ve had it for at least 10 years! Enter the Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog. Based on the manual power controlled Excellence model, this bagless cylinder cleaner adds Miele’s Cat & Dog floorhead to the tool roster. We’ve been impressed by this tool on some of Miele’s other pet-centric cleaners. Its air-powered rotating brush bar with twin rows of stiff nylon bristles are very effective for all-round carpet cleaning duties. Henry Hoovers are similar in price to the basic C1 model but if you’re wanting a better vacuum it’s going to cost more for a Miele. It’s the Blizzard CX1, that’s got the most power and best suction of any of the models. Which sub-model you go for won’t affect the power, but that’s the most powerful.

Plus if you like gadgetry you can open up the app on your phone and actually see a live stream of where it’s cleaning. Not particularly useful but goddamn is it cool. It’s got all the best smart sensor technology so that it can detect and make its way around your house but it does sometimes struggle to go from room to room. Special sensors measure the air throughput of the GORE CleanStream fine dust filter and automatically activate the ComfortClean self-cleaning function as needed. To complete this, the appliance switches off for about 20 seconds. The ComfortClean function can also be activated manually. Thus, ComfortClean guarantees consistently high cleaning performance.Miele vacuums are built to last, so long after a shark burns out a Miele will still keep going strong making them better value for money. So all vacuum cleaner makers had to comply, but it made them work harder on efficiency because they didn’t want to lose suction. All of those coolness does come at a cost though, it’s an expensive vacuum, but it actually does as good a job as a regular vacuum cleaner so all you have to do is empty it and you’re house will clean itself. Our carpet and hard-floor test results with this head were a replica of those achieved with the same head on the CX1 Excellence model. Simply put: superb cleaning right up to the skirting edge, with only a few heavier grains of test powder showing on the carpet after a single pass. Pictures of that test can be found here.

Miele entering the bagless cleaner market is about as big as news headlines gets in the heady world of vacuum cleaners. Having staunchly supported the bagged argument for decades, Miele’s decision to add bagless cleaners to its range must have been a tough one. Clearly, the Blizzard CX1 was going to have to be something rather special.Given that the CX1 Blizzard is also available in a Cat & Dog version, the Comfort PowerLine probably isn’t the model you’d choose if you have a house full of furry friends. Out of the box, the flagship Comfort PowerLine edition is a sleek-looking cylinder cleaner. Its white coachwork, darker panels and sweeping lines are reminiscent of a fly-bridge on a luxury yacht, and the crystal-clear bin offers you a window into the centre of its single cyclone bagless system. The cleaner isn’t small, nor is it light, but it certainly looks like it means business. Every 6 months is the rule of thumb but many models tell you when the filter is starting to get full and needs to be swapped out. The brush arm is 25% more powerful than previous models and is now much more effective on low pile carpets, which combine with a 2 hour run time and it will easily get around your house.
