About this deal

The guarantee is conditional in that it covers normal use and that misuse has not taken place and that the final decision rests with Online Ergonomics Ltd, their component and fabric suppliers. The guarantee is conditional on the chair being returned to Online Ergonomics Ltd for assessment. Consider the versatile VIP3 Accessory if you need to tent the keyboard, and also want palm supports. The VIP3 Accessory tents the keyboard modules by 5°, 10° or 15° and comes with removable Palm Supports included. Once you’ve selected your macro trigger, then simply type the macro contents on the keyboard. Each macro can record up to 300 keystrokes. When you are done recording your macro, simply tap the Macro key to exit Macro Programming Mode. Consider purchasing a separate numeric keypad if you key in a lot of numeric data. See the Numeric Keypads category.

Place the mouse on the side of your dominant hand. For most people, the compact design of the keyboard will bring the mouse close enough to the body. However, if your pain is more severe, you can prevent even more movement at the affected shoulder by positioning the mousing side of the keyboard closer to the centre of your body, and then turning it slightly so that your arm can remain perpendicular as you type. You will then be able to reach the mouse with very limited involvement of the shoulder muscles. Up-charge.To get the full benefits of the Kinesis you will need accessories and they will cost you. The VIP3 accessory (the wrist rest + tenting ability) or the V3 (just the tenting ability) will each be up-charges that cost a bit more, but are necessary to get the full effect of the ergonomic features of the Kinesis. Some people may find this to be disappointing since this is already an ‘expensive’ keyboard. The Freestyle2 Keyboard can be further customized with one or more of the Optional Accessory Kits described below (sold separately). With the addition of the appropriate Accessory Kit, this already highly configurable keyboard can be customized to provide even more ergonomic benefits. The Kinesis® Freestyle™ adjustable split keyboard is a breakthrough in ergonomic design. Created with input from ergonomists and health professionals, the Freestyle adapts to the specific needs of each user, while providing a stylish accent to any workstation. Fully Onboard Programmable

Go to ‘System Preferences > Keyboard > Modifier Keys’, making sure the selected device is for the Freestyle2 keyboard Please note: keyboard images show the US layout, with the line drawing showing the UK layout for reference. Let’s talk about ‘ergonomic’ keyboards. What makes a product ergonomic? Well in my opinion it needs to be fully adaptable/adjustable to the user. In other words it needs to fit the user (not the other way around). Historically there has been a lot of ergonomic issues with a ‘conventional’ keyboard. Generally speaking these include mousing too wide due to the location of the keyboard’s number pad; a lot of force required to type; and a general design that is not aligned with what us as humans are designed to do. So, let’s get into the review! REVIEW OF THE KINESIS FREESTYLE 2 KEYBOARD

It’s estimated that 36% of adults in the U.S.A are considered to be obese today. Research has found that: obese workers file more than twice the number of worker’s compensation claims with costs that are dramatically more than that of average weighted workers; and o bese workers are more than twice as likely to develop carpal tunnel syndrome when compared to average weight workers. This can be incredibly expensive for an organization to accommodate these workers in the long-run.

Tenting Installation

The graphic below shows someone using a ‘conventional’ keyboard. Does the set-up look familiar to you? Well, it’s an extremely common set-up and most people are sacrificing their mousing arm (in the yellow area) to position the lettered portion of the keys optimally for them. So, what this means is that in most cases, a conventional keyboard is technically too long for most people. Using a keyboard shouldn’t mean that you need to sacrifice comfort in your mousing arm. The cost of returning goods to us is to be at your own expense and we strongly recommend that you use an insured courier service (DPD, DHL, Yodel etc) for this and obtain a receipt of despatch as we will not be responsible for returned items which fail to arrive or which are damaged in transit.

Compact Design: The Embedded 10-key reduces overall width and places your mouse closer to your center reducing over-reach.

Professional-Grade Ergonomic Mechanical Keyboard

The Freestyle2 utilizes a quiet, low-force, tactile membrane key switch. The typical average maximum key force of a switch is 45 grams. This is at least 25% less than most traditional and many ergonomic keyboards such as the Microsoft 4000 with maximum key forces of over 60 grams. When you hit the wrong key, the results can be disconcerting, and I've never had problems like these before. This keyboard feels comfortable to rest your hands on. If you can deal with it, use the 'tenting' feature to raise it up to full height. If this is your first ergonomic keyboard, take it easy and get used to it before raising it up to a better angle.
