above represents my own opinion of The Shining, which I consider a near-faultless exercise in horror that greatly expands on Stephen King's There’s still Danny (Danny Lloyd). Growing up in a broken home, he snaps too. His nightmares grow from trauma. He imagines a friend, but slowly becomes enveloped in fantasy.
